Fitness Tracking And Dancing Guide

I have been having a great time tracking my fitness with my new Jawbone tracker. It has even helped me improve my dancing too! What is a fitness tracker you say? Heres the skinny:

There are a variety of sports activities that I engage in, such as swimming, dancing and cycling. But did you know that there are devices that can track your speed, efficiency and endurance level on a scale? The fitness tracker has been in existence since the early 1970s and has since evolved and modified to fit any athlete’s need.

DIY fitness is on the rise, and people are giving their very best to become champions, just like me :). Many athletes use triathlon watches to help them achieve endurance goals and reach the level of fitness they have been striving for.

Things I look for in a fitness tracker

Fitness trackers can be used in various sports such as swimming, and on the on the ground for instance while running and cycling. Therefore, it is important to mention that different devices are useful for different activities. Therefore, start by asking yourself, how water proof is your fitness tracker.

Since your fitness tracker is likely to be exposed to moisture, It would therefore be important to know the degree of `waterproofing` that your tracker offers. I recommend one that has an ATM of five or more as this will ensure your device is waterproof up to 5 meters.

Another critical factor to consider is GPS. GPS is useful for tracking your swimming and cycling speed as well as your distance traveled.

You also need a tracker that can record real-time statistics on time and speed to help truck on your performance and perhaps increase your speed. Also, a watch that shows vertical oscillation and ground contact will be useful in providing statistics for your speed, time and endurance.

While the triathlon watches can be worn day to day tracking purposes, I will give you the reviews for the best fitness trackers & watches to be used in swimming, cycling and running.

Here are my 2 favorite fitness trackers

My Experience With Original World – Choosing The Right Tour Company

Most people who are highly independent disdain organized tour companies. But in reality, every traveler has taken an organized tour at some point in their lives. Even if its just a simple day or overnight tour. The point i’m trying to make is that they are often unavoidable. This is because many different places are inaccessible unless you’re traveling with a registered tour company (Bhutan and the Galapagos islands come to mind) and so you must sign up with one to see these particular places.

Unfortunately tour companies have been given a bad rap over the years. When you think of group tours, the first thing that comes to mind is old people in Bermuda shorts and lots of cameras. But organized tours that are done correctly can actually be very fun. They are great for helping you adjust to traveling with a like minded group. If you are interested in taking a tour there’s a few things you should look out for.

How to choose the right tour company

Reputability – it’s always wise to research your tour company of choice on various forums and places like TripAdvisor.com. Look for any bad reviews, and try to avoid the bigger and more expensive companies, since oftentimes they have many bad reviews anyway. Generally, the smaller companies are a little better and are a great place to start your research.

Average price – make sure you ask the tour company where the money is going. Find out if there are any hidden fees you have to pay when you’re on location. Some companies will even ask for more money when you land at the tour location.

Tour guides – it’s best to choose a company that uses local tour guides. This is because a local guide will speak the language, and can help you with any merchant transactions. Some tour guides are really knowledgeable and can really add to the tour experience, while others are more like glorified timekeepers. But a good tour guide can really make a great trip, and a bad one can break it.

Be Safe – you should always choose an accredited tour company who is following all of the proper safety requirements.

Scheduling – if you’re paying a company for an experience you should look at how they are planning out your day. Are there many activities planned, or do they just leave you to roam around? Try to choose a tour that has many activities scheduled but is also a little bit balanced. Running around all day can be stressful, and there’s no reason to do that while you’re on holiday.

Group size – large groups require large accommodation and big ships and buses. Tour companies that focus on small groups make it much easier to meet people and forge new friendships within the group.

Where’s the money going – is the tour company you are booking you’re tour with using a local company or a large corporation? Are you being shuttled around a motel, or a big bus? Are you staying at only large corporate hotels? Or are you using small locally owned hostels and hotels and other services? Try asking your tour company where it puts most of its money, because a good tour company will always keep everything local.

Conclusion

Not all tour companies are bad!

Im still alive..

Sorry everyone but i just haven’t had time to update my blog lately! I know when i started i said to myself i would update everyday.. but im soooo busy! I only have time for a short post tonight but stay tuned for next week as i have some big announcements to make!

Favorite Supplements: Fish Oils

Hello all. This is the first in a series of “favorite supplements” posts. I plan to do 1 for at least everyone supplement that i take. Today i want to talk about one of my very favorite supplements though: fish oils.

Fish oils are refined from ocean caught base types, such as salmon, krill, and mackerel. They are quite beneficial to your health in a myriad of ways. They really help with brain and bone health, but the thing i use them for most is my skin. I always notice an increase in skin vibrancy when i take my fish oils.

The main nutrient in fish oils is omega-3 fatty acid. Omegas-3s can help a great deal with mental and physical degeneration, such as depression or arthritis. This is obviously just a small amount of things that omega-3s can influence. If you want to read more check out: omegas3s. Omegas-3s are basically the opposite of omega-6 acids, which come from land animals like cows and chickens. The experts say we have too much of 6 and too little of 3, so this results in a nutrient imbalance. I have to say that in my experience they are right. This is why i try to balance my diet with lots of fresh fish, even though im not the biggest fan of it. But if you find you cant stomach fish than your best bet is to go with fish oils. Personally, i do both.

The thing you have to be wary of is that there are many different kinds of fish oils out there, and not all of them are created equal. Some can even be contaminated with lead and arsenic! Youch! I have a few favs that i could recommend, such as nordic naturals or green pastures, but your best bet is to try a few brands and do your own research about toxins. There is no single best fish oil brand. But you can can check out sites like www.fishoilfacts.net for a sort-able list. This site is great and has a table where you can sort the various brands by cost, size, and toxin rating. Also check out their article on acne. A rather annoying condition that i cured with some cod live oil. Based on their recommendation of course! I recommend you do some research on the health benefits of fish by themselves. Eating fish is a great alternative to land animals but you have to be careful of the toxins. At least that is my take on it anyway! Well that’s its for tonight, im getting really sleepy. Till next time!

My very first post!

Hey yall! Hah. I couldn’t figure out how to start my very first post so i decided on that. I know its kind of lame! But~! What to write about? Well i thought i would talk about my passion in life: something alternative health related. So today i think im going to cover naturopathy. What is naturopathy?  Wikipedia defines naturopathy as “a alternative form of medicine that uses different treatments, such as herbalism, acupuncture, and diet/lifestyle changes.” I think this is pretty accurate. Basically naturopathy is a non traditional way to treat disease. It removes the emphasis on drugs and surgical procedures and uses alternative supportive treatments that provide the body with the nutrients it needs to heal itself. I am currently studying to become a naturopathic doctor because i feel the western medicine model is lacking when it comes to true “cures”. Western medicine tends to treat the symptom of the disease and not the cause, unlike naturopthy which focuses on treating the cause and not the symptom. Additionally, pharmaceutical drugs tend to be highly toxic to the body and cause more problems than they solve.

Thats just a breif rundown of alternative medicine, to give you and idea. I feel that there is a supplement to replace any drug, personally. But I will save that for another post since its getting late and that’s all i have tome for right now! Well, good night yall!
